QUESTIONS FOR MR BURNS

 

At ‘Conversations with Burns’ at the Bakehouse, audience members were asked to write on conversation cards something they’d like to say to Mr Burns. These are a selection of responses :

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to talk to you about the appropriation of your name by those you might not agree with.

 

I would ask Mr Burns if there were any jobs going at the nuclear power plant.

 

Who was your true love, Mr Burns?

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to ask you how you divided your time between writing poems and farming at Ellisland.

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to ask you, How do you talk Mouse?

 

Dear Mr Burns, did you really prefer haggis to ragout?

 

Mr Burns, I want to talk to you about Mirza Ghalib.

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to talk to you about anything but Poetry with a capital ‘P’.

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to ask you if peace is the most precious thing in the world.

 

Mr Burns, I’d like to talk to you about birds, those we still have in common, those we’ve lost and any only you knew.

 

Mr Burns, if you’d lived another 30 years, what would you have wished to achieve?
